Whale Point Hotel, Eleuthera BahamasπŸ‡§πŸ‡Έ

Whale Point Hotel

aka

The Castle

4 days, 3 nights...not enough time to take in this beauty.

Like the saying goes, "third time's a charm".
I have made two trips to Eleuthera prior to this one but they were both Governor General's Youth Award (GGYA) trips (hiking and camping) so I didn't get to see much of the island outside of the expedition route. Fortunately, on my third trip I ditched my tent and stayed at "The Castle" as the locals refer to it.

The views from the balcony are amazing. The sound of the waves crashing onto the cliffside will soothe and calm you. There is also a pool that, from the right angle, connects with the ocean and looks like you're in an infinity pool.

On the first morning there, I set my alarm to wake up in time to see the sunrise. I imagined it would be beautiful to see the sun rise up out of the ocean and I was not disappointed. Take a look.

I followed the pathway to the cliffside to get a better view and it was breath taking. It was a great morning walk. I packed OFF insect repellent but I didn't need use it and I was very surprised.

Later that morning I took a swim in the pool. I did not want to get out, the water was warmed by the sun, it was great. I took lots of sunscreen so we were all well protected.

This was a great trip. I enjoyed each day. A well needed staycation.

Please note: all pictures were taken by me. They are not Google pics :-)

We stayed in a two storey 2 bedroom 2 bath villa with a full kitchen, tv, internet and AC. I was told that this hidden gem has been around from the 80s, it is still beautiful and standing firm.

March Madness!!!

March Madness is definitely upon us!
...and so is COVID 19🦠
which means lockdowns and social distancing are in full effect so there will be no face to face book club meetings until further notice.

With that said, the book for the month of March is..
"When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.
You will assume you are reading about a jealous ex-wife.
You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement – a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love.
You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle.
Assume nothing." -goodreads

The Confident Woman by Joyce Meyer

Happy New Year
It's 2020!!!
πŸŽ‰πŸ₯‚πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸ₯‚πŸ₯³

A great book to start the year off in high spirits and with confidence.
The book for the month of January is...
"Our world has created a false unrealistic image of what women are supposed to look like and act like. But the truth is that every woman was not created by God to be skinny, with a flawless complexion and long flowing hair. Not every woman was intended to juggle a career as well as all of the other duties of being a wife, mother, citizen, and daughter. Single women should not be made to feel they are missing somenthing because they are not married. Married women should not be made to feel they must have a career to be complete. We must have the freedom to be our individual selves...

Confident people do not concentrate on their weaknesses; they develop and maximize their strengths."

Christmas in London by Anita Hughes

Merry Christmas!...and the Book of the Month is.....

December 2019

These are the books we will read for the year 2020. Some changes may be made along the way.

A few gifts from us to them.
                                                              Wine glass charms

Diamond studded pens for everyone!!!

The theme for December's meeting was "Pajama Night". We played Fibbage 2 and Heads Up, baked and decorated cookies, danced and laughed the night away.

"Set during London's most festive time of year and filled with delicious food, Anita Hughes's Christmas in London reminds us that love and forgiveness are truly the greatest gifts of all.
It’s a week before Christmas, and Louisa Graham is working twelve hour shifts at a bakery on Manhattan's Lower East Side. When a young cooking show assistant comes in from the rain and begs to buy all the cinnamon rolls on her tray, she doesn’t know what to do. Louisa is just the baker, and they aren't hers to sell. But the show burned the rolls they were supposed to film that day; so she agrees."

Sit back, relax & enjoy!

The Mister by E L James

The last Sunday of every month, Sistah Haven meets for a monthly book club meeting. The book for November 2019 was "The Mister" by E L James.

This book was a great combination of love and action. A great read.

"From the heart of London through wild, rural Cornwall to the bleak, forbidding beauty of the Balkans, The Mister is a roller-coaster ride of danger and desire that leaves the reader breathless to the very last page."

Caught in His Web book 2 by Linzi Basset

Caught in His Web the Caught Series book 2 by Linzi Basset. (ordered from Amazon)

"The day Brooke Willows let it slip that she wanted to have sex with Jack Sands, her lot was sealed. At long last he could get his hands on her, something he had been graving since the day he kissed her on her twenty-first birthday. Brooke endured his boorish behavior because she wanted him – badly and come what may, this time she was going to have him. On a trip to Mexico they both got what they wanted, only to have it shatter to pieces by Jack’s hang-up on her past. Working together on a project with the LAPD, they were thrown together once again, forcing Jack to face the demons that had chased him for the past year. Love would keep them together, but they were both too hardheaded to notice and both had to face reality. That maybe they were not meant to be."

The first meeting was Sunday 27th October 2019 at Starbucks in Fusion Superplex, Nassau, Bahamas. OMG I was so excited! Just to see this thing our minds finally come to fruition and yaassss hunni it was all worth it (v) (v) <3

We decided to put a little gift bag together for each member. It included a wine glass, chocolate kisses and the first book was complimentary. You guessed it! We drink wine at every meeting...lots of wine :-)

Take a look at a compilation of the highlights from the first book meeting. Enjoy!
